Owners, Inspired Closets Murrysville
Tom and Laura Ferri
"We’ve been designing and installing organizing systems in Greater Pittsburgh and Western PA since 2004, and we're still thrilled each time we bring a client’s desire for organization to life. We have a passion for creating functional yet beautiful organizational designs tailored to each unique home and lifestyle. From the initial design consultation to the finishing touches on installation day, we work hand-in-hand with you because after all, it is your space in your home. Our top priority is to listen and learn before we create so that the end result is a project that meets and exceeds expectations. We LOVE what we do & you’ll LOVE it too!"
“In 1994, we bought our first home which needed a lot of TLC. What began as a home renovation became a dream realized when Tom discovered a natural love of carpentry and I managed the new design. We enjoyed and still enjoy working together on our many projects especially our business: Inspired Closets of Murrysville (previously known as Closets by Tom). As a local, family-owned business, we strive to develop personal relationships with our clients and our next job is often their referral.
Born and raised in the Pittsburgh area (Tom-Murrysville; Laura-Monroeville), we are proud Pittsburghers through and through. When he’s not enjoying the Steelers, Penguins or Pirates, you’ll find Tom riding his bike on any of the local Rails-to-Trails or spending time with our wonderful grandson, John Thomas (aka JT). I love the outdoors as well and am most happy gardening or playing in the park with JT and our many nieces and nephews. I have seven siblings and LOVE the happy chaos that comes from a large family. I’m right at home in the frantic energy of a new home build or the general day-to-day surprises life brings so if you’re worried about bringing someone into your home because you think it might be just a bit too messy or not quite organized enough… don’t be! That’s what we’re here for and we’re ready to help. We LOVE what we do & you’ll LOVE it too.”
Jane has been part of the Inspired Closets team since 2008. She’s also family (Laura’s sister), and it is a joy to work together! With a background in math and science, she loves listening to her client's closet challenges and then working with them to problem solve. She really enjoys creating functional and fabulous spaces in this ever evolving world of organization. When not designing storage solutions, Jane can be found spending time with her husband and children in their McMurray home or out and about at the Children’s Museum, the Science Center, the zoo, or at any one the wonderful venues around our great city of Pittsburgh.
Julie joins Inspired Closets with experience as a personal stylist/closet cleanser and professional organizer. Whether you want a practical or more elaborate solution, she enjoys collaborating to reach a successful end result. Julie understands how to design layouts that maximize space and create a functional system based on her client's needs, and she loves transforming spaces into something that brings clarity and peace of mind.
When asked, “What inspires you?” Julie says, when it comes to closets, she’s inspired by the result of having something that helps create organization and is aesthetically pleasing. Personally, she’s inspired by "having a home" for everything, so she’s always working on organizational solutions in her own house. When she’s not designing, Julie enjoys spending time with her two nieces, hiking, running, playing pickleball with her husband, reading, and trying new recipes.
Pittsburgh native Heather joins our team after working for a garage flooring and cabinet company for seven years, designing hundreds of spaces and helping clients transform their garages into functional areas they love. In her designer role at Inspired Closets, Heather enjoys being able to work one-on-one with clients to create spaces that are both beautiful and functional.
When asked, “What inspires you?” Heather says her inspiration comes from her own desire to have an organized living space. When everything in her home has its place, she’s able to think more clearly. It’s very gratifying for Heather to help her clients create the same feeling in their own homes. When she’s not transforming spaces, Heather loves to travel with her family, enjoy evening walks with her dog, Max, and ski with her kids in the wintertime.
