Owners, Inspired Closets Western PA
Tom and Laura Ferri
While working on their fixer-upper home back in 1994, Tom discovered a love of carpentry that came naturally to him. At the same time, Laura put her childhood hobby of designing “dream houses” to good use as they basically built their new home around an old one. Little did they know, this endeavor would spark a new calling in life. 10 years later in 2004, they began their closet adventure and it’s continued ever since.

An organized space just makes you feel good. We love bringing beauty and order to our Pittsburgh clients.
From the first meeting to the final installation, the process is exciting and our clients are thrilled. We truly love what we do and we hope to continue to help Pittsburghers for a very long time.
Jane has been part of our Inspired Closets team since 2008. She’s also family (Laura’s sister) and it is a joy to have her work with us! With a background in math and science, she loves listening to her client's closet challenges and then working with them to problem solve. She really enjoys creating functional and fabulous spaces in this ever evolving world of organization. When not designing storage solutions, you can find her hanging out with her husband and children in their McMurray home or out and about at the Children’s Museum, the Science Center, the zoo or many other of the wonderful venues around our great city of Pittsburgh.
Having been raised by a real-estate attorney and a broker, Emelyn understands architecture, home design trends and how to make a room look its best. As a tutor and a teacher for 18 years, she has learned how to listen, understand, and offer solutions. Emelyn is highly organized and can make even the smallest space more functional and beautiful.
Ricky is our lead closet installer and has been an integral part of our Inspired Closets team. Having grown up perfecting his trade, Ricky brings more than 10 years of highly skilled craftsmanship to the homes of our clients. As the father of a young daughter, Ricky is a dedicated and attentive role model. He is also a proficient huntsman and enjoys the solitude of nature and the rewards of a bountiful harvest. Ricky's attention to detail and dedication to his craft highlight the quality of our installation services.
Overseeing the ordering, receiving, and sorting of material, Dan certainly has a great appreciation for organization. Dan spends most of his time in the warehouse but can occasionally be seen on job sites as an extra installer. When he’s not in the warehouse, he’s either outside playing rugby or inside playing tabletop games.
Nate enjoys working with his hands and building things from scratch. Both of his grandfathers were carpenters and he learned a great deal working alongside them. Nate is a hard worker and cleanliness and organization are some of his strong suits. Nate has always been very active even from a young age whether it be skiing, playing soccer and hockey or just hiking outdoors.
