OWNERS, INSPIRED CLOSETS HAWAII
Brent & Kamuela Potter
"As a family owned business we take great pride in our work and strive to set an example for our children to follow. Our local culture creates an awareness that everything we do impacts those around us. This sense of responsibility drives us as business owners and as designers. We’re passionate about what we do and we’re blessed to be able to do it together."
In 2003 Kamuela was challenged by a friend to help her research local closet companies. This quest sparked an idea. As an executive at one of Hawaii’s leading retailers Kamuela had been involved in planning and space utilization for new stores. This experience had prepared her for the road ahead. Together with her husband Brent they dreamed that this idea could grow into a family-run business.
Kamuela soon launched Organized Hawaii while Brent kept his day job. They were dreamers but they weren’t crazy! Their first client was the same friend that had sparked the original idea. With the help of some friends and a minivan borrowed from Brent’s parents they tackled their very first job.
Fueled by word-of-mouth referrals, the company grew quickly over the next few years. In 2007 Brent and Kamuela were finally able to realize their dream of working together. In 2017 Organized Hawaii became known as Inspired Closets and is now the longest running closet company on Oahu. Our success is only possible because of an amazing team of employees. We’re proud to introduce them here.
Known for her grace and perseverance, Kamuela founded the company over 15 years ago. Respectful of her island upbringing, her business model is to always make a conscious decision to do right by her clients. She is the driving force behind our team. She wears multiple hats including designer, CFO and head cheerleader. What INSPIRES Kamuela? Her team’s commitment to be the very best.
Brent moved to Hawaii from Wisconsin in high school then graduated from UH with a business degree. With more than 10 years of design experience he loves to help clients find the right balance of function, beauty and cost. He’s grateful every day to do what he loves with an amazing team. The Potters live on the North Shore with their kids Anuhea and Makana. What INSPIRES Brent? “Our home is our family’s ‘happy place’. I love to help clients create that for themselves through design.”
Suzette grew up in Guam and moved to Hawaii in 1998. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from Chaminade University. She loves sketching up designs and making them come to life. On the weekend you’ll find her spending time with her husband and three beautiful children – often chauffeuring them between activities. What INSPIRES Suzette? “In the chaos of life I find peace in hiking, yoga and being at the beach.”
Shana is a self-proclaimed nerd for design and has a deep love of all art including industrial design and fashion. She applies this same passion to each client project that crosses her desk. Through her graphic design background Shana works with our designers to bring each project to life from start to finish. She genuinely assists each client and gives them the time and attention they deserve. What INSPIRES Shana? “Helping our clients find design solutions for the most personal of places, their home.”
When he’s not playing board games or adoring pictures of bunnies (yes, bunnies) he’s hard at work assisting clients who need more organization in their life. Ray receives dozens of designs each week from our designers. He happily takes them under his wings and raises them to be beautiful 3D renderings. What INSPIRES Ray? “It’s such a pleasure to see the designs come to life knowing how many smiles it will bring to our clients.” Oh, and bunnies too.
Every business needs a Kaimi and we have ours. She absorbs what the creative-types say then translates it into language that computers and her installers can understand. Kaimi works with her team to bring many details together to create order for your home. She is always three steps ahead of the rest of us and has been for more than 12 years. What INSPIRES Kaimi? Family, quiet moments and whipping chaos into order. Then a cup of coffee!
Carolina found her niche in the closet and cabinetry industry in 2014. In her current role she’s the procurement professional and client liaison for our team. Carolina describes herself as a “sometime high-heel-wearing mostly yoga pants-sporting mom of 4 year-old twins”. What INSPIRES Carolina? She loves playing a role in building something beautiful for our clients. Clients (and their closets) are like trees. No two are alike.
Nate and his team run a tight ship in our warehouse. Processing thousands of parts each week and preparing them for installation requires great attention to detail. Although fueled by pizza and chocolate, Nate is a fierce bodybuilder. What INSPIRES Nate? Setting impossible goals AND surpassing them every time.
