OWNERS, INSPIRED CLOSETS HAWAII
Brent & Kamuela Potter
"As a family owned business we take great pride in our work and strive to set an example for our children to follow. Our local culture creates an awareness that everything we do impacts those around us. This sense of responsibility drives us as business owners and as designers. We’re passionate about what we do and we’re blessed to be able to do it together."
In 2003 Kamuela was challenged by a friend to help her research local closet companies. This quest sparked an idea. As an executive at one of Hawaii’s leading retailers, Kamuela had been involved in planning and space utilization for new stores. This experience had prepared her for the road ahead. Together they dreamed that this idea could grow into a family-run business. Kamuela soon launched Organized Hawaii while Brent kept his day job. They were dreamers but they weren’t crazy! Their first client was the same friend that had sparked the original idea. With the help of some friends and a minivan borrowed from Brent’s parents they tackled their very first job. Fueled by word-of-mouth referrals, the company grew quickly over the next few years. In 2007, Brent and Kamuela were finally able to realize their dream of working together. In 2017, Organized Hawaii became known as Inspired Closets and is now the longest running closet company on Oahu. Our success is only possible because of an amazing team of employees. We’re proud to introduce them here.
Known for her grace and perseverance, Kamuela founded the company 20 years ago. Respectful of her island upbringing, her business model is to always make a conscious decision to do right by her clients. Kamuela is the driving force behind our team, wearing multiple hats including designer, CFO, and head cheerleader. What INSPIRES Kamuela? Her team’s commitment to be the very best.
Brent moved from Wisconsin to Hawaii in high school and then graduated from UH with a business degree. With more than 15 years of design experience, he loves to help clients find the right balance of function, beauty, and cost. He’s grateful every day to do what he loves with an amazing team. The Potters live in Mililani with their kids Anuhea and Makana. What INSPIRES Brent? “Our home is our family’s ‘happy place’. I love to help clients create that for themselves through design.”
Suzette grew up in Guam and moved to Hawaii in 1998. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from Chaminade University. She loves sketching up designs and making them come to life. On the weekend you’ll find her spending time with her husband and three beautiful children – often chauffeuring them between activities. What INSPIRES Suzette? “In the chaos of life I find peace in hiking, yoga and being at the beach.”
Lindsey graduated from Kamehameha Schools (IMUA!), then discovered a love for interior design while attending college on the mainland. After four years of working with some of Seattle’s top designers, she brought her talents back to Hawaiʻi nei. Now she makes up for the gray years in Seattle with weekends at the beach. What INSPIRES Lindsey? “I love puzzles -- crosswords, riddles, math problems -- and designing beautiful and functional spaces for my clients flexes my puzzle skills.”
Armed with a degree in fashion studies and formative experience designing custom home spaces, Melissa comes to Inspired Closets with a wealth of knowledge to help create the space of your dreams. A native of New Jersey, Melissa moved to Hawaii in 2015 and immediately fell in love with the islands. What she loves about design is having the capability of creating a space that’s functional, but also giving it that extra spark it needs to change the lives of her clients! In her free time, you can find her at the beach or on an adventure in the mountains. What INSPIRES Melissa? “I’ve always been drawn to the ocean. The water brings me the clarity that I need to take on anything that comes my way.”

With 20 years of experience in the construction industry, Chantelle has managed projects ranging from small residential rebuilds to new large commercial high rises. As our Operations Manager, she’s always finding ways to improve our efficiency and streamline day-to-day operations. When she’s not working, Chantelle enjoys watching movies and spending time with her son – playing chess, golfing, & chauffeuring him around to his activities. Chantelle is also a huge animal lover and loves tending to her dogs, goldfish, and chickens. What INSPIRES Chantelle? “With all the challenges and opportunities we experience, being able to put a smile on someone’s face or brighten someone’s day keeps me going.”
When he’s not playing board games or adoring pictures of bunnies (yes, bunnies) he’s hard at work assisting clients who need more organization in their life.
