A custom closet is a storage solution that’s designed specifically for your space, your belongings, and your habits—not a one size fits all rod and shelf. Because many closets are built with minimal thought (just a rod + top shelf), they often lead to under‐used space, clutter, or inefficient organization. It depends. Cost varies with the size of the space, how it’s configured, the materials, and the number of custom features. Smaller closets typically start around $5,000, although smaller reach in closets may cost less and large boutique-type closets cost more. A helpful rule: “more product = more cost.” Learn more here.
During a consultation, a designer will ask how you currently use (and don’t use) your closet, what’s working, and what isn’t. They’ll measure the space, bring samples of materials and hardware, and show preliminary design options via 3D rendering or by using Envision, our priority augmented reality software that lets you walk through your space. Yes. At Inspired Closets we use a 3D design software to show you renderings of your space. In addition to a 3D design, you can walk through your new closet in its fully transformed state before it’s ever built by using Envision by Inspired Closets. This first-of-its-kind technology utilizes augmented reality so you can see every shelf, drawer, and design decision before you commit to buy.

There’s something for everyone in Raleigh, and with so many things to do outside the house, the last thing you want to think about is coming home to a cluttered, disorganized space.
At Inspired Closets Raleigh, we know how custom organization solutions can make a difference in your daily life, and we want you to experience the calm and inspiration of a clutter-free home. That’s why we specialize in designing and installing custom closets in Raleigh homes to ensure you have organized, stress-free spaces in your house.
We can transform any closet in your home, including walk-in, reach-in, and boutique closets, but we also have organizational and storage solutions for other areas in the house, like the garage, laundry room, pantry, and entryway. To organize all these spaces for you, we follow a simple, collaborative four-step process: consult, design, prepare, and install.
The first step is our consultation, where one of our designers comes to your home to evaluate the challenging areas, figure out your pain points, and discuss how you want things to look and function moving forward. Next, we move to the design step. Here, we create a 3D rendering of your custom closet or other space, adding intuitive and space-saving solutions based on your needs and lifestyle. Before we move to the preparation phase, we’ll tweak this rendering until you’re completely satisfied with it.
To prepare, we’ll provide garment racks so you can store your items but keep them accessible during the process. Once you have everything out of your closet, we’ll remove the existing closet system to clear the way for your new custom closet in your Raleigh, NC, home. Finally, we get to installation day where we work quickly and carefully to install the custom closet system we know you’ll love.
